Lodestar

Una lodestar (stella guida) è un astro relativamente brillante e semplice da identificare che può essere utilizzato per trovare la direzione; è particolarmente citato con riferimento alla Stella Polare la quale nei secoli XX e XXI indica la direzione del Nord.

La componente del nome “lode“ è etimologicamente collegata al verbo “to lead”; le lodestar servono infatti da guida ai naviganti.
